Copperplate Calligraphy – Invitations and Cards

Copperplate is also known as English Round Hand, developed from Italic in the 17th century. This beautiful script is written with a pointed nib and relies on the slant of the letterform and pressure and release of the pen to create its graceful shapes. Students will develop this writing for cards and formal occasions.

Calligraphic scripts used in a modern experimental way can look stunning in black on white or can be given an added dimension using colour and different sized nibs.
