Glass Fusing – Kiln Carving and Inclusions

Explore your creativity through kiln formed glass. Learn how to use design and fusing techniques to create unique glass artworks. The course will cover how to create bas relief and texture in glass and also metal inclusions. The pieces you produce can be functional or decorative.

A two-day course with stained glass artist and experienced tutor Sarah Glover. Make a lovely stained glass panel to your own design. You will learn how to design a panel, select and cut glass, and cut and solder lead. There is also the option of copper foiling your panel instead of using lead.

Make a lovely stained glass panel which can be hung in a window. On this introductory course each student will learn how to cut class using a cutline template, cut and fit lead and solder the panel together. Beware – this one-day course could be the start of a new, all-consuming hobby!

Stained Glass with Traditional Glass Painting

Design and make a stained glass panel that includes painted kiln-fired pieces. Emphasis will be placed on glass painting techniques. Traditional glass paint is a black medium applied to the surface of coloured glass and kiln-fired. It is used to create patterns and textures which are independent of the lead line.

Stained Glass Tea Lights for Christmas

Stained glass looks stunning when illuminated with candle light and makes the perfect ornament for your Christmas table or window. Make a tea light holder from coloured glass, based on your own design or on one provided by the tutor. You will learn copper foiling technique which allows you to work with more intricate and delicate designs than are possible in lead. There will be a large selection of stained glass to choose from. The tutor is a professional stained glass artist and experienced teacher.
