Japanese Woodblock Printing – Further Techniques

This course is a follow-on to Japanese Woodblock Printing. We will look at the more technical aspects of paper preparation, working with washi paper, sumi ink and animal glue, printing and bokashi techniques and alternative methods including brush work and using different wood. Build on your existing skill and take your Japanese woodblock printing to the next level.

Printing Taster Day

Learn the basics of three printing techniques; silk screen, transfer printing and block printing. At the end of the day you will leave with several successful prints ready for framing or fabric ready to be stitched into a hand-printed interior accessory. The tutor also supplies aprons, t-shirts and tea towels to print on, should you wish. She is a trained teacher and has worked for several years in the fashion and interior business, selling her clothing and giftware to Harrods, Harvey Nichols, Macy’s and numerous local shops.

Polyester Plate Lithographic Printing

This is an introduction to a user-friendly and safe lithographic printing method using polyester plates. An image is drawn or painted on the plate using various tools, such as permanent markers or acrylic paint, then rolled with lithograph inks and run through the press. This course will teach you the basic techniques and is suitable for beginners.

Lino Print Christmas Cards

A fun workshop in which you will print your own original Christmas cards using linocut, a bold and rewarding printing method perfect for making a seasonal statement. You will print onto art paper and then mount onto a blank card if desired (you may just want to frame them!).
