Block Printing Workshop

Join textile artist Victoria Squires to create printing blocks to your own design and print linen tea towels, aprons, cards, cushion fabric or papers. First, experiment with ready-made blocks from wood, easy-carve lino and sponge as well as traditional Indian blocks. Then learn to make your own blocks and test several composition ideas. After practising, produce your own beautiful hand-printed items to have and use around your home. These also make fantastic presents.

Wool Applique Christmas Cushion

Felted wool applique winter themed project featuring a cute snowman set into the word “Joy”. Would suit both beginners and intermediate sewers. A sewing machine will be needed for the cushion construction but the applique can be sewn by hand or machine and both methods will be demonstrated on the day by the tutor.

Festive Decorations - Temari Balls

In Japan Temari balls are given to celebrate important events such as births, birthdays, anniversaries and weddings. They are colourful decorative baubles made with a soft wadding core wrapped with thread to form a ball, which is divided into sections and sewn with contrasting threads to form lovely patterns. These decorative balls look stunning displayed in a glass bowl, or hung as ornaments. Why not add them to your Christmas decor this year?
