This course offers an introduction to the craft of pewterwork, made popular by the Arts and Crafts Movement. Using simple hand-held tools, learn to give texture and form to flat metal sheet to produce an attractive brooch or pendant. Very little is needed in the way of equipment so this craft can easily be continued at home. The course is aimed at beginners, but if you have already done some pewterwork, there is plenty of scope to extend your skills.

A wonderful array of letter shapes can be achieved with a selection of nibs and pens, some imagination and above all, confidence, which you will gather on this course. We will begin by learning the basic italic hand, then relax our method and try flourished and informal letter shapes. Experimental calligraphy can be big and boisterous or delicate and gentle, and can be stretched or manipulated with exciting results.
