Tutor Profile

Norah Kennedy has been a basketmaker and taught willow workshops for 30 years. She is a member of the Basketmakers’ Association. Her baskets are made from stripped and unstripped willow, mostly grown on the Somerset Levels but with some unusual colours from Herefordshire and Powys. The appeal of working with willow, for Norah, lies in the combination of natural materials and traditional skills. She enjoys passing on her skills to others and watching her students create beautiful, useful objects.
