Summary

This course is a follow-on to Japanese Woodblock Printing. Build on your existing skill and take your Japanese woodblock printing to the next level.

Further Detail

This course will help you to improve your printing at home. We will look at the methods of preparing and sizing paper for optimum printing and during the course you will try out different papers. We will look at the methods of turning free brush painting into cut woodblock and the incorporation of wood grain into your work along with some general tips on design. You will learn about the use of sumi ink and thickening glue in printing along with working on improving shading techniques. We will work on a set piece in order to ensure all the techniques are incorporated. The design will provide scope for individual expression.
