Our Tutors

Our tutors are selected for their standard of craftsmanship and teaching talent. They are experts and practising craftspeople. Many are award winners, members of professional guilds and known internationally.

The forms Debbie will be teaching owe a lot to the influence of Japanese ceramics, including vases that she calls -'pails', based upon the Japanese water pails (Miso Baketsu) and her teapots which are a more humorous, lighthearted affair - "not very practical in size, although they all pour without dripping" See full profile
Korky Paul was born in Zimbabwe. He studied Fine Arts at Durban Art School, South Africa, and Film Animation at CalArts in California. Korky began his career in advertising before becoming an award-winning illustrator of children’s books. He is best known for the Winnie the Witch series that has sold more than 7 million books worldwide in more than 30 languages. Korky has illustrated many other successful books for Hodders, Penguin and Oxford, including several anthologies of poems edited by John Foster and Michael Rosen. See full profile
Angela has been weaving for 30 years and is a trained teacher with more than 20 years’ experience. Since giving up full-time work in 2004, she has taught people from five to 85 to weave. She enjoys seeing the work that beginners produce. See full profile
Pauline Payne is a local freelance designer, jeweller and tutor who studied at Portsmouth College of Art and Design and has gained a number of prestigious awards for her jewellery work, including Royal Society of Arts commendations and the National Platinum Award. With over 30 years' experience Pauline is highly respected as a tutor and jeweller, frequently attracting outstanding reviews from both students and other professionals. See full profile
Christine Pearce has a diploma in floral art and design and teaches flower arranging in various venues. She is an independent florist specialising in weddings, and an area demonstrator for the National Association of Flower Arranging Societies (NAFAS). See full profile
