Summary

Learn the basics of three printing techniques; silk screen, transfer printing and block printing. At the end of the day you will leave with several successful prints ready for framing or fabric ready to be stitched into a hand-printed interior accessory. The tutor also supplies aprons, t-shirts and tea towels to print on, should you wish. She is a trained teacher and has worked for several years in the fashion and interior business, selling her clothing and giftware to Harrods, Harvey Nichols, Macy’s and numerous local shops.

Further Detail

During the morning demonstrations will be given of each of the three printing methods and you will try them out for yourself, hands-on. After lunch you will design your own silkscreen print and will have a chance to experiment further with the other two printing methods in order to combine methods in a unique composition. Alternatively, you might choose to complete three pieces of work using the printing methods separately. The tutor will provide lists of materials and instructions for the methods used, so that you can repeat the techniques easily at home.
